Last month I had the pleasure of composing for Holly Merritt’s short film KATE, and it gave me the chance to delve into some new things for me.

I went on a road-trip with the film’s director Illya Klymkiw, where I returned to the cello — an instrument I hadn’t played since high school. All kinds of nostalgia and old feelings came back. It started as an experiment, but it wound up guiding the whole process and kind of became the voice of the film.

Making this music changed my life a little bit. I’m really proud to share it with you.
